Despite being small, Porter Memorial Library offers the latest books hot off the press. Just in from much loved author Amor Towles  (A Gentleman in Moscow) comes Table for Two. It contains six stories based in New York City and a short novella set in the Golden Age of Hollywood. For those of you leaning towards mysteries we have the latest from James Patterson, Clive Cussler and Louise Penny to list only a few from our large selection. In our recent arrivals nonfiction section we have Democracy Awakening by Heather Cox Richardson. She provides a historical background to our daily news and helps the reader develop some perspective on the daily chaos. The author of Killers of the Flower Moon has recently written a narrative nonfiction account of a shipwreck that happened in 1742 called The Wager. You may have heard people talking about this well researched story that reads like a thriller.

In the category of memoir, we have many. Ai WeiWei, (dissident Chinese Artist), Liz Cheney, (Congressional insider) and Prince Harry (spare heir) are just a few of the voices on our shelves. One of my personal favorite authors, James McBride, has recently published another masterful story, The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store. It is set in the 1970’s  in a small town in Pennsylvania. In this heartfelt story McBride shows us that it is love and community --heaven and earth -- that ultimately sustains us.

We have all these books and many more to share with you. Please come by and check out our constantly revolving selection of new books and our collection of classic and proven literature.
